Help From US Department of State In A Travel Crisis

January 15th, 2012 No comments

The US Department of State can offer some help to US citizens in the event of an emergency situation overseas. However, the help offered doesn’t cover you completely and you also need international travel insurance. Protecting yourself with international travel insurance is essential for a number of reasons.

In certain situations, the US government only provides information and advice so if you need to leave the area where you are staying you are responsible for organizing your transport and accommodation. Without travel insurance you may find it difficult to pay for new hotel rooms or, if you miss your flight, another flight home.

In other situations, the US State Department recommends its citizens leave the affected country and will then provide departure assistance if commercial transportation is not available. However, you will need to pay for both these forms of transport.

If you have no money at the time, you can still leave on US transportation but you must pay back the US government for your fare. If you have international travel insurance, you can claim money back for your costs in the event of a natural disaster or terrorism event.

January 12th, 2012 No comments

Highmark introduced a new individual insurance plan, effective Feb. 1, that it says offers simple health insurance coverage with a low premium, low deductible and predictable copayment structure.

The Pittsburgh-based health insurer serving Western and Central Pennsylvania introduced Simply Blue PPO, a medically underwritten plan that targets people without group coverage and covers 100% of preventive care services.

We listened to our members feedback, and weve heard them say that they would like a more affordable plan without a large upfront deductible, said Steven Nelson, senior vice president of health services strategy, product and marketing at Highmark, in a statement.

The plan does not include maternity coverage and uses Highmarks Progressive Formulary, a new generic-driven prescription drug plan that encourages members to seek lower-cost drug alternatives, while ensuring continued access to a brand-name drugs.

Premiums for Simply Blue are as low as $90 a month with a $500 deductible for males ages 25 to 29.

Outside of the obvious – the value of your house – three things influence your home insurance rates.

You can use these factors to reduce the cost of insuring your home.

Titusville Renters Insurance – Free Renters Insurance Quotes Online in Titusville

December 29th, 2011 No comments

Titusville renters insurance should definitely take into consideration where your building is located and what kinds of dangers are most likely to occur there. For example, if you are located fairly close to the water, then flooding can be a potential problem. However, because flood insurance is not automatically included in most Florida renters insurance plans, you’ll need to add an additional Titusville service plan feature. Then, if and when that situation comes up, it’s not going to cost you any extra to deal with. Instead, you will only have to come up with the deductible, and then you’ll be able to receive whatever amount of compensation you agreed to originally.
